Summer breeze

I just realized I haven't put up any post since May.

Things have been going at a fast clip. This summer seems to be passing by so fast. We had so many plans of what to do this summer. We did quite a few, and some fell in the cracks.

Mostly we were busy with the kids activities.

I did put in two veggie beds. They aren't raised beds, but they have the plot of raised beds. The veggies are producing. With the drought during June and July, the veggie production has been a bit off. We are getting tomatoes, beans, peas, cucumbers, bell peppers and hot poppers out of them. There are also more on the vines. Also, there are a few eggplant fruits growing, more bell peppers, and we have several heads of cabbages in the making.

The are a couple potatoes plants growing in the potato towers. I'm excited and can't wait to see what we'll get out of them.

We cut way back on gardening this year, and it turned out to be a sound plan. We may expand again next year, but this year, having two small beds worked out well for us.

On the sewing front, I have been sewing fitted diapers to fill in orders. I am about to mail a couple today. I haven't been able to sew as much as I'd have liked, but I can't complain. I get commissions knitting or crocheting longies, soakers and stockings. Those take time to make. However, the pay is much higher and I get to play with yarn!
