I finished the bunny this morning. It took me a day and a half with a lot of breaks in between to finish it. What I am saying is, this is really a very quick and easy pattern.
It’s adorable!!! Sarah already wants one in red. Maybe I can try using heavier yarn to make it a bigger bunny.

If I am going to make more of the bunny, I need to get stuffing. I used sponge for the insides of this bunny.
My brother and his wife are going to have a boy in August! The second grandson in my family. I am happy for them and for my mom. At least she’ll have one grandson over there to cuddle with.
I am knitting a toy for him; a knitted bunny. I’ll dig my stash for the right yarn to use. It may not be fuzzy, but it’ll be soft.

The veggie plants are finally picking up their pace. They’re starting to get bigger and looking healthier.
We’ve been enjoying the lettuce and baby spinach from our garden. The lettuce is a bit bitter. I am going to try planting a different type of lettuce once we’ve used up this batch.

Baby Spinach
I want to do something to cage the zucchini and squash. I also want to put up a trellis for the cucumbers. Too many things to do, so little time and energy.

Zucchini.

Yellow squash and cucumber on the far side.

Some of the tomato plants; grape and cherry.

The eggplants.

The rest of the tomato plants.
The roses

and the lilies.

The tank top I knitted for Sarah will not become a tank top. First of all, it is a bit small for her (she’s grown, surprise, surprise). Second of all, she decided she didn’t want a tank top.
I was almost done with it. I ended up binding off half of it. Currently, I am knitting the other half to make a flap. The thing will become a handbag. Quick and easy fix, rather than finishing the tank that no one will wear, or ripping out the whole thing.
Thomas’ baby cardigan is coming along nicely.
I am getting bored with the projects that I have going. I am itching to start another project, but too lazy to dig my yarn collection and to think what I can make with them.
The roses, the roses are coming! Love my roses. Tiny buds, tiny flowers.

A few of the lilies look like they’re going to bloom any day now, too.
A couple of the strawberries are turning red. Sarah and her friend, Jordan have already put their claims on each strawberries.
The veggie plants are surviving the rain. Zucchini plants are getting big. The rest of the plants are not growing as fast. Eh… that’s ok. We haven’t put anything on the plants either, other than mixing the compost in the soil when we tilled the ground earlier in spring. That could be why they aren’t growing big, too.
Maybe we should till in compost and some manure in the soil next year.
Ha… the sun finally comes out.
Summer is here soon. Another week? Gahh….
I finally broke down and bought a few dwarf dahlias for the front flower bed. Meh…. Not too bad.
The roses are blooming and from the look of it, the lilies will bloom soon, too.
I’ve been working in the garden almost daily now, at least when it’s not raining. It’s such a therapeutic experience. I get stress in the middle of working and I’ll head out to the garden, weeding for a couple of minutes before I get back to work. It’s a wonderful stress reliever.
We haven’t done anything to take the tomato plants. We really should. There are a few flowers on the grape and cherry tomato plants. The other plants are growing just fine. Since it’s cooler out the past few weeks, the plants are growing as quickly as they did last year. They get a lot of water, though. That’s a plus.
All we need to do nowadays is just weeding and more weeding.
As for knitting, I am done with the front panels for Thomas’ baby cardigan. I’ve started the back panel. It’s a straight forward knitting so it shouldn’t take me long. Hah!
We’ve finished putting plants and seeds in the ground. Here’s our inventory for this year:
Tomatoes - 2 cherry, 2 grape and 9 medium sized tomato (can’t remember the name)
Eggplant - 4 Ichiban
Bell Pepper - 6 Bonnie green
Onion - 8
Potato - 3
Yardlong bean - +/- 12
Bush bean - 8
Cabbage - 2
Cucumber - 2
Zucchini - 2
Yellow squash - 2
Chinese white radish
Radish
Lettuce
Spinach
Strawberry
Shallots
Carrots
Corn
Herb - rosemary, basil, chives, thyme, sage
We were going to plant garlic, but it’s the wrong season to do it. We’ll wait until later.
I haven’t bought any flower flats. I am waiting to see what will happen with the seeds; zinnia, aster and a couple others. They seem to be starting to grow. We’ll see. The bulbs and roses from last years are growing well though. If the seeds I planted don’t come out well, I still have the lilies and roses to bloom.
